The Commission Process
Commissions typically take 2-3 weeks from start to finish. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Choose Your Size & Send Photos — Decide on A4 (€50), A3 (€100), or A2 (€150), and send 1-2 reference photos. Image quality matters, the better the photo, the better the painting will be.
Step 2: Discuss Your Vision — I’ll reach out to understand what moment matters most to you. What did it feel like? This conversation shapes how I approach the painting.
Step 3: Painting is Created — Using wet-on-wet techniques, salt effects, and layered watercolour washes, I translate your moment into paint. This is where the magic happens, spontaneous, expressive, alive.
Step 4: Receive & Treasure — Your finished painting is packaged manually and properly protected, arriving at your address in perfect condition.

How long does a commission take?
Typically 2-3 weeks from the moment you send your photos and we discuss your vision.
Can I request changes to the painting?
Once pigment touches the paper, it stains into the fibres. Painting over mistakes or making major changes would turn the transparency into opacity, losing the luminosity and spontaneity of the piece. Minor tweaks are possible – adding a detail, softening an edge, shifting something small. But large changes would compromise the transparency that makes watercolour special.This is why our conversation before I paint is so important.
Do you paint subjects other than seascapes and surfers?
Yes! While ocean and coastal scenes are my specialty, I also create family portraits, travel memories, and personalized moments. If you have a vision, let’s discuss it.
What if the photo quality isn’t perfect?
I work with what you have, but higher-quality photos (better lighting, sharper detail) genuinely do result in better paintings. If you’re unsure, send what you have and we’ll talk through it.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! Shipping is available within Europe. Portugal has free shipping; other European countries vary by location. For international inquiries outside Europe, contact me directly.
What if I’m not happy with the final result?
